Amazon Web Service (AWS) and the ETL Tool

Amazon Web Service (AWS) is a platform based in the cloud. It offers a wide range of services including database storage, high-performing computing abilities, and optimized content delivery. Unlike traditional databases, all these components are kept in separate silos for greater business convenience. Migration of databases between relational databases, NoSQL databases, or data warehouses is another critical function of AWS either from on-premises servers to the cloud or from one cloud provider to another. For this function, the most optimized tool is ETL AWS.

ETL is an acronym for Extract, Transform, and Load. It is mainly used where multiple databases have to be combined into a data warehouse or a single centralized database for storage. There are three stages in the working of ETL AWS. The tool first extracts data from the source, transforms the data into the required structure that matches the target repository, and finally loads the formatted data into the target database. ETL is a fully automated tool and the process does not require human intervention at any stage. Hence the migrated database is not prone to errors or data loss, resulting in high performance and cost savings for organizations.

When you use the ETL AWS tool, there are several benefits to be had, making it very popular among organizations for database migration. Here are some of the more important ones.

· Whenmigrating databases with the ETL AWS tool, there is no need to install or configure additional applications or drivers or make any changes to the source database. Migration can be started directly from the AWS Management Console. It directly and seamlessly replicates all changes in the source database to the target database through the Change Data Capture feature.

· ETL AWS continually updates all changes made at the source to the target database at pre-determined intervals provided both the source and the target are continuously kept in sync. Further, the source database is fully functional during migration. This is especially useful for large data-driven enterprises for whom shutting down systems and downtime can adversely impact operating efficiencies.

· A very critical advantage of the ETL AWS tool is that it can function and migrate databases regardless of their structure. This is possible because AWS supports almost all common and popular databases in use today. Both homogeneous and heterogeneous migrations can be carried out with this tool. The first is when the database engines, data types, data codes, and the schema structures of the source and the target databases are the same. When they are different it is heterogeneous migration.

· Migrationwith the ETL AWS tool is also possible between on-premises databases to Amazon RDS or Amazon EC2, Aurora, and databases running on EC2 to RDS or vice versa. Data can also be migrated between SQL, text-based data, and NoSQL with DMS AWS.

The ETL AWS tool is perfect for a cloud-based environment.
